TOURIST GUIDE TRAINING  RPL National Certificate Culture Level 2

RPL (Recognised Prior Learning)

Guides who have been guiding without being registered as a guide (illegal guides) can now be assessed without necessarily attending classes. Terms and conditions apply.

Rationale

Some  aspirant guides want to start off with only one province. This qualification enables a guide to work in his/her chosen province. The qualification can be achieved by starting off with one region in the province only (e.g. the Cape Metropole) and can be continued at the learner’s own pace to eventually encompass all the regions in a province (e.g. Winelands, Overberg, West Coast, Eden, Central Karoo in the Western Cape).

As long as the learner attended all the required basic sessions and has submitted the required tasks and written the required tests, he/she can broaden his/her scope by submitting itineraries for the rest of the province.

Alive!PTL also offers a bridging programme for learners who want to expand their guiding scope by doing the Level 4 programme, which will eventually enable them to obtain a qualification to guide nationally.
